The Love Swan Boat
︎ 2015
︎ recycling wood, LED
︎ New Taipei City, Taiwan
This work is about vague childhood memories of my late father riding a swan boat with me at a lake somewhere. Its purpose is to memorize my father, who died in 2015, through an art performance. It featured a fragile, swan boat-like structure made from recycled materials, designed to break apart during the performance gradually. And it is an eight-kilometer walks from Guandu to Tamsui with this equipment.
The work reflects the complex emotions and memories of my time with my father. It is not a binary representation of good or bad memories but rather an emotional expression of my overwhelm and desire to commemorate my experiences with my father through art.
