︎ Taipei, Taiwan
Through the Lighting structure, the artist aimed to recall the Xibenyunn Temple, a burned-down temple built during the Japanese colonial period. During the KMT, a Taiwan political party, administration, it gradually developed into a place with many illegal constructions and overcrowding of the poor. In 1975, an accidental fire started from the main temple and almost destroyed all the buildings.
This area has historical significance regarding the changing in administration and political iterations. The artists’ goal is to reveal this monumental building and Phantom-like memories through light structure and effects.
