The work of Taipei Hakka Cultural Park aimed to transform the traditional Hakka printed cloth pattern into a light installation. The artist sought to connect the Hakka printed cloth, a classic Chinese design, to the light’s performance. The installation took the shape of a Moutan Peony, a typical Hakka printed cloth pattern that combines various flower patterns. Additionally, the project included a workshop where local families were invited to use paper-cut art to complete the overall installation. As a Hakka child, it’s an honor to design this work and share the meaning of the Hakka spirit.
