The artists utilized the abandoned materials and the shape of the Kirin, a mythical creature in Chinese culture, to create their work. They collected discarded local election and propaganda flags, commonly seen during Taiwan’s election seasons, to connect their work to surrounding environment, local culture and everyday aesthetics. The installation site was located near a temple, and the artist saw their artwork as a means of starting a conversation and fostering relationships, beyond just creating an alternative aesthetic perspective. The goal was to bridge the gap in a landscape art festival.
