Transcend Time is a collective work by Jasmine Fernandez, Alessia Lapio, Christain Scenini, and Me. The project reflects the collision and coexistence of organic life with the highly digitized and mechanical environment of Eindhoven.
The concept emerged from my observations of how this city, known for its technological advancements and innovative spirit, contrasts sharply with a flock of sheep’s straightforward and instinctive nature. It’s about highlighting the absurdity and harmony of this juxtaposition—placing something as raw and unstructured as sheep against a backdrop of sleek, cold, technological modernity.
This project doesn’t just play with contrasts; it’s a commentary on the underlying humanity that persists in a world increasingly dominated by machines and systems. The sheep symbolize us—our vulnerabilities, our instincts, and our moments of flock mentality. In contrast, the heart of technology represents an idealized version of control, precision, and progress. By bringing these two worlds together, the project aims to create a dialogue about balance, belonging, and the nature of innovation itself.
Through this work, I want to explore what it means to exist authentically in a hyper-structured environment. It’s about finding the cracks where spontaneity and humanity seep through, reminding us of the organic roots beneath the polished surface of a tech-driven society.
